Three Designed Objects

Coffee/Tea Mug

They have over 80 different designs and phrases that are up to date with current trends and topics, as well as old-time favourite expressions that are still relatable to people from different ages, genders and backgrounds. Despite the various designs to choose from, what I like the most is that they focused on using one shape and size for all mug designs in this collection. The size and shape are nothing extravagant or unusual, they use the simplest design for a mug that has been used by many other manufacturers over the years and has become well-established.

The mugs are cylindrical, have a “C” shaped handle, and the bottom edge is lightly tucked inwards so that the mugs can stack on top of each other nicely, for better display and/or storage. The design of the mugs provides a comfortable and secure grip, which to some extent can cause the user to not even notice or think about the design of the mug, providing a seamless experience.

I believe the various designs on the mugs are what makes them stand out from their competitors. They create a great opportunity for customers to purchase different yet similar mugs, by offering the same shape and size but in different colours and prints on them. Customers can also create a unique and aesthetically pleasing personal collection of mugs.
