Thameslink
The quickest way to get to Modern Tate from Stockwell Street is Thameslink. The Greenwich station is just an 8 minute walk from Stockwell Street. Once you get to the station get the train towards Luton for 3 stops — Deptford, London Bridge, and Blackfriars. Get off at Blackfairs station and exit via Blackfriars Rail Station(BankSide Entrance). Now, it is just a 7 minute walk to Tate Modern.

Boat service
The second option is to get a boat. Walk from Stockwell Street to Greenwich Pier boat station which takes aproximately an 8 minutes journey. From there find RB1 platform and get the ferry towards Battersea Power Station Pier. Ride 6 stops and get off the ferry at Bankside station. From there it takes approximately a 5 minute walk to Tate Modern.

Bus
The third option is taking a bus. You need to walk for 3 minutes to Greenwich Church Street (stop B) bus station, take the 188 bus towards Tottenham Court Road. After 16 stops, get off the bus at Southwark Park (stop C) station. From that same stop you need to catch the 381 bus towards Waterloo. There are 12 stops until you reach Great Guildford Street (stop BM). Once you get off that stop, walk for 8 minutes to reach Tate Modern.
